These three chemicals, commonly used in nail products, were first identified as toxic. The following three chemicals could cause some harmful long-term health effects to you or your customer.

Dibutyl phthalate (DBP)

This ingredient is commonly used in nail polish and cosmetic. It is a plasticizer that is used to prevent the polish from chips and cracks. Plasticizers have been proven to be carcinogenic. The substance is also associated with liver, kidney and reproductive system problems.

Formaldehyde

This ingredient is used as a preservative in UV gel. This chemical gives UV gels that  strong odor and can cause allergic reactions, breathing problems and nausea. Formaldehyde is a proven carcinogen.

Toluene

This chemical is used to help suspend the color and to form a smooth finish. Toluene has not been classified as a carcinogenic, but it has been proven its harmful for the central nervous system. Causes fatigue, dizziness and nausea!

That’s why we don’t use the toxic trio in our UV Gels
